PortableApps is the big winner of SourceForge's 4th Annual Community Choice Awards. They won directly 4 out of 12 awards, and is associated to 5 other winners, for a total of 9 PortableApps related awards. I've been carrying PortableApps.com in my pendrive as a replacement of the lame and expensive U3 portable launcher from Sandisk for some time and I can tell that it is awasome. The best is that you can us it in any pendrive regardless of the brand.

Actually, the big winner is the USB pendrive, as 11 out of the 12 winners can be executed from a pendrive. May be there is a way of running the other one as a portable application, but I do not know about it.

If you work in a corporate environment and it is not allowed to install programs in your PC (and the USB ports are not blocked), you will be able to use your programs without violating their 'no install' rule. I always keep critical utility and productivity applications with me. Why use Internet Explorer 6 when you can use a modern browser like Firefox 3.5?
